Evan

Are the following places good neighborhoods in West London?

I live in the States so any help is appreciated!

Holland Park
Kensington
Maida Hill

Good neighborhoods?

I have to find a flat for 3 months in a nice/safe area with an easy commute to Oxford Circus.

Help!

hi the three areas which you are considering are all quite (well to do) areas and being such have a good police presence especially holland park and kensington also these areas have a large amount of foreign visitors so would be well suited to your needs also public transport is very available and shopping second to none hope this helps.

They are very nice areas, populated by a lot of wealthy people so as long as you have plenty of cash to pay the rent you should have a great time living there.

Holland Park and Kensington are both expensive and up-scale neighbourhoods, so you need have no worries... apart from the huge cost of living there of course.

Maida Hill is actually more normally known as Maida Vale. It is slightly less exclusive than the other two areas but still very good

beckconnie63
they are wonderful

rodders
They are good neigh ( bour) hoods.

They all sound reasonably nice neighborhoods! Not too much problems. Generally the east side of London is easier on the wallet but not quite as nice as the West side of London.

wifel
kensington is a superb place to live, museums,tube,shops,cafes,bars,people,saf... all top rated.

other two also very good i'm sure!

Yh there good, nice looking area, trouble is low, good transportation area.

Plumbers Wife
They are all above average on the safety front in London!!

One thing to bear in mind, alot of wealthy people live in these areas so street robbery and burglary are rife!

On the plus, it would be a very short journey to Oxford Circus!

Ignore the other person Maida Hill is indeed a place.
Okay,
So Kensington go South Ken, North and West are inhabited by council estates with the lower class.
Holland Park the most expensive houses in the world excellent location scenery definitely.
Maida Hill, no my cup of tea inhabited by the lower middle class and the middle class and rarely by the upper middle class.
Also try Chelsea, one of my favourite places in the capital.

All three are exceptional areas although some parts of Maida Vale (Not Maida Hill) (towards Kilburn) area slightly rough once the sun has gone down but you really wont have any problems with the other two. I hope you have a lot to spend because all three areas are VERY pricey. Good Luck!

Holland Park and Kensington are very good areas. Think the last plac should Maida Vale and not Hill - Maida Vale is also a good location.

All three have quality housing and mix of middle and upper middle class type residents.
