It depends on the area a bit, but in general - houses in the UK are smaller for sure.

Also, housing prices are waaaaaay up in the UK. Again - generally - housing prices in the UK are higher.

Life in the UK is expensive....very expensive. And most houses are just built smaller.

this depends on far too many circumstances.
we have a house in one part of Florida thats only 350.000 but the same house in Miami or Tampa would be over 1.5 million.
Our old house in Baltimore sold for 200.000 but would only cost about 100k in Florida.
The same 350k house in FL would be over 1 million in most of the UK however my sisters house outside of London is over 800k pounds while her fathers house in Staffordshire is the same size and half the price.

As a generalisation yes but it does depend on where you live. It's generally because there is more is space in the US than in the UK. There are exceptions (such as new york) but generally there is more space to build bigger and better houses at a lower cost.

yes america is very cheap compared to usa, we could move there and get a magnifcent house, where as you moving here would end up in a box.

That depend where in the states your looking.
California and New york very expensive.Homes here inCulver City a suburb of Los Angeles go for minimum of $600,000Us dollors.Places like Montana they are a lot cheaper say 200,000.Its what in demand.

they are big and very expensive to run it depends where you want to go and how many of you are going there if it is only you than you do not need a big house , why not just get an apertment you do not need a so many expensivethings before you get your feet of the ground.
you need to think very hard , you need ajob first , stay with somebody you know for few months pay them a rent and you still can save some money its a big thing you really need to think very hard, can you afford to buy a big house just for your self.

It definitely goes by what area you choose to buy a house in.

Do your research. This question relies much on what type of area you want to live in.

More urban areas have higher living costs.

Something more rural may give you lower housing costs, but may be more expensive to travel around and get the things you need.

I think so but not in New York where I live. A small house here would cost like $600,000 but in Florida it's only $100,000 for medium one to $300,000 for a mansion.

They might be bigger and cheaper in the USA, but our buildings in the UK are built to withstand more then those in the USA. Houses are built out of good old bricks & mortar in the UK, most houses i saw in the US where like some form of wood or something like it!
