Mainly in the south ,The hospitals and transport system would grind to a halt if they were not there !
Now why can't some folk just answer a question as was asked without going on the defensive and implying racism !

Quite a few. Many are descendants of when this Country was quite a large centre for slave trading. Interestingly, even at that time, there were some 17,000 free black people living in the London area, if I remember my history correctly.
Then a large number came as immigrants from the West Indies in the 1960's - recruited to fill job vacancies here.
Between 1948 and 1970 around half a million black people came to make their home here.
Birmingham is expected to be more black than white by the end of this decade. |

About 1 in 50, but it's not like they're spread out evenly. Also, I'm guessing the reason is just curiosity. |

Some areas have more black people than white. I have heard that this is the case for London as a whole, but even here there are areas that have less black people. We also have people of every other shade too. |

Approximately 15% of the UK'S population are classed as from Afro Carribbean/Ethnic backgrounds. The whole population is however made up of immigrants, ranging from recent immigrants to french, spanish, italian, and norwegian spanning many centuries. Including a german/greek heir to the throne. What difference does the colour of their skin make if they are all British citizens?? |
