No native ones - only those in zoos or that 'sneak' in, in crates of fruit.

Not natural spiders no.Imported probably.

no

there is one poisonous snake native to the British Isles though but it's so rare most people don't know anyone who has even seen one.

basically we're one of the safest countries on the animal side of things, you have got nothing to worry about.

I friggin' hate spiders!!! So I'm glad I live in the U.K. lol. Arachnophobia SUCKS. :-(

With the climate changes and warmer weather, it's said that more exotic spiders are making their way here and SURVIVING. Scary thought.

But I do believe it's generally considered that only imported arachnids are poisonous enough to kill in the U.K.

'Er indoors!!
The false widow spider bit my daughter this summer, and she had a nasty reaction, it was also on West Country News, that a woman lost a toe after being bitten by one. Also, "English" Mate, come to Cornwall between early May, and early October, and I will show you Adders, I have them nesting in my compost bin.I see them every year without fail, they are not that rare. Come and see my dog with the one eye, and ask him how he lost his eye. Yes, to an Adder.

I should think so but why would you want to eat them?

Be afraid .....
Not actually poisonous, but there are more than you would think who will bite and cause a reaction:

The False Widow spider is said to give quite a nasty nip...but I don't think it could be considered to be deadly. So many species are finding their way here now amongst fruit and food consignments

gotribe
No.

None of the spiders in the UK are poisonous. Unless they have been imported.........

The false widow spider, the hobo spider and the brown recluse spider thats all i know of but there are probably more

We have the Woodlouse Spider down where I live. It looks poisonous too....bright red and yellow. It gives a bite that reacts like a small Bee sting.
