Are there beaches in England?

Along the South-Eastern coast of England, are there beaches that people can hang out at? I realize that it's the English Channel and not an actual ocean...

How far south east I wonder?
If you come to Suffolk there are fabulous beaches that go on forever - there are a few that join up different towns. People sunbathe, swim, party, walk the dog etc etc. A great place to have a beach party with pals - just PLEASE tidy up any rubbish before you go.
Enjoy!

Yes. They don't have sand though (Id on't think that is what it said in my science book) They have rocks, but it is very pretty.

Of course there are.
We have electric light and indoor plumbing too. :-)

Brighton Beach, by the way, is all stones, but some of the finest "touristy" beaches are along the South Coast, with plenty more scattered up and down the land.
We just don't tell people about them, to keep them to ourselves :-)

Erm, the UK is an island is theres hundreds of beaches....plus the English Channel may not be the ocean but theres also the Irish Sea, North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean (think you should try looking at a map!). There are gorgeous beaches all over the UK. Can recommend - Herne Bay, Margate, Brighton, Bournemouth, Newquay, Salcombe (bays near there), all round devon & cornwal, skegness and on and on.......

HI there I live in a town with a beach, Clacton on Sea. With nearby towns along the coast with beaches are st, osyth, point clear, jaywick, frinton, walton. These beaches are sandy, further up the coast is Lowerstoft,Yarmouth, Burnham etc. Brighton Beach has large pebbles, not sand!

Snowy
If you go along to the South West you will also find that we have beaches which used to get into the world surfing tour.

Just remember however that unless you are a surfer or engage in some other beach / water based sport our beaches are not warm enough to do very much on between mid october and end of march.

Umm, England is an Island, which means there are beaches all the way around it. One side is on the English channel, but the other three are on the atlantic ocean. You should probably start by looking at a globe, then go from there.
