Tea is £2.80 per cup and you have to queue with several 100 recently arrived immigrants to buy bread which is £2.22 a small loaf. |

The cost of living in England is rediculous. The price of clothes to electric and veen running your car. And for the record catching a bus is expensive too. |

It's nowhere that expensive in the Midlands - the bread I bought today for feeding the birds was 37 pence for a large sliced loaf.
You can buy a detached house up here (all mod cons, 4 beds, en suite, etc., etc.,) for around £190,000 in a good area. Diesel has rocketed - we paid 114.99 a litre today.
We wouldn't live in London anyway - husband is a Londoner and was glad to get out of it. |

yes, it is - cup of tea is probably at least £1.50
that's why many people go shopping in the states, purely because its so much cheaper. i mean the dollar exchange rate is something like 1.90 to the £. its ridiculous what they charge us, money grabbers |

Yeah, everything is more expensive in UK. Petrol, food, electrical items, music, DVDs, clothes, alcohol, tobacco, cars, the list goes on and on... |

hell yeah! For example I bought a Nintendo DS game for 30 pounds. Which is around $60. I went to an American store and saw the same game for $25. I was sooo mad! |

Are you talking about the whole of England or just London?
The cost of living generally is very high in England and facilities used by tourists such as hotels and restaurants are particularly expensive |

It depends what part of England you are in. London and most of the South east is very expensive but I have found that some shops in Canterbury charge more than shops on Oxford Street, London. Cheaper areas in the South East are usually in rough areas. Northern England is supposed to be cheaper |

oh yes! and its getting more expensive all the time! its cheaper for me to go on holiday abroad than it is for me to stay in my own country! its totally crazy, there are so many beautiful places in our country too, its a crying shame!!! |

It depends which area of England you visit. London is mega expensive and so are the bigger city's like Manchester and Liverpool but within these cities and in the smaller ones like Sheffield you can find things alot cheaper. London is so over-rated, trust me. |
