Nope - i have a blind friend, she has a hell of a time with euro notes and coins as they all feel the same to her.

Also i'd rather the uk in general had more Independence from Europe.

UKdancer
NO! I love the english currency!
its unique!

If England changed to Euro the prices on everything would increase. That would not be good for England right now in its situation.

Angel
No,

no not really, but are new money is looking more and more like the euro don't you think?

Hannah
Not at all. If we switch to the Euro, our economy depends on the European bank, not on our own independent. So if a certain country screws up, it affects everyone. We may have more connection within the EU if we switch over, but we can still be a part of the union without using its currency.

And Anti-Barbie, the notes may feel different, but each note increases in size as the value rises. Hopefully this would've made things easier.

CAPTAIN SENSIBLE ..... =)

NO! never!!

Yes! For business I travel to Dublin and Paris at least once a month and it is a big pain to always be at the currency exchange, let alone pay the fee at the exchange.

I'm not bothered as long as I've got enough in whatever we're using, though it would have made more sense to join when it was first introduced 7 years ago - as usual, we're late in getting involved with anything to do with European development because of xenophobic scaremongering, and get worse terms than we would have if we'd got in in the beginning.

Having used the notes and coins, it's just a matter of getting used to them - they were specifically designed to help the blind and partially sighted - the 1c and 5c have smooth edges, the 2c has a groove running all round the edge so the blind can feel it, the 20c has little scallops and large smooth areas on the edge, the 50c has a milled edge all the way round, and it's easy to distinguish the €1 and €2 by weight.

Yes.
In all honesty, it wouldn't affect us THAT much. It's only currency at the end of the day. Back when we changed from pounds/shillings/pence to decimal currency a few decades back people were saying 'the current system is British!' 'Waste of Money!' 'Confusing new notes and coins!'

And then after, everyone quietly shut up afraid to admit they previously opposed it, for no real reason.

Us Brits are usually scared of change, with good reason of course, why change if things are working fine?

I was previously anti-euro, but thinking about it, it makes sense!
Now for example, the pound has slumped, and we're all finding holidays to Europe very expensive, but its good news for our exports cause Europeans find it cheaper to buy from us, but it an years time that could switch round again, our imports too expensive, job cuts. It seems silly to have so much risk, have people's jobs on the line if the exchange rate changes.

I think the slight inconvenience of having to get used to new notes & coins (which we all know anyway, at least us who travel), and having to adjust settings of vending machines and other things like that, would be pittance in exchange for economic stability.
Think of the other benefits! No need to change currency when visiting the continent, being able to use your debit cards in Europe with no 'foreign currency charge', and also, the excitement of getting new notes and coins we all secretly love.

I do think the notes are dull though, a grey 5 with some imaginary bridge?
make the notes brightly coloured, polymer and fun like the Australian Notes and i say we welcome the Euro with open arms

james
yes we should have done it long time ago get that german queen out of our faces
