Lovely and warm today but perhaps not as warm as where you are wherever that is.

Look up the met office website and see what their forecast is:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/index.html

I'd suggest layers, cotton t-shirts and shirts with a selection of thin and thicker jumpers, and a medium jacket, waterproof jacket and a scarf. If it gets cold, you layer more on, and if it's that bit milder you don't put as much on.

Bringing a coat is fine if you know it's definitely going to be cold, but if it gets a bit too warm for a coat but too cold for without a jacket, then you'll either end up having to take both a coat and a jacket (and lug heavy cases with you), or end up feeling a bit cold/warm for lack of proper clothing.

It is cold where I live.... up a hill in Scotland.

There is no harm bringing a coat as you can take it off if its warm. If you don't bring a coat and its cold then you have nothing to put on to keep you warm.

Other option if come to the UK withut a coat and buy one when you get here??

Or just wear layers of clothes like I do - under my coat!

I should bring a waterproof jacket ! - it has been very sunny some days but there has been alot of rain as well. We have just been for a walk and there is alot of water running down the sides of the lanes - there will be flooding in some parts if we get much more rain this week.
Have a good trip with a variety of layers in your suitcase .

cobra
cold and rainy by anyones standards. I'm cooking here in Uganda and am rather jealous of anyone who can muster up a goose bump.

LouLou
