I don't think we do, at least I'm not aware that we do . . but then I grew up in the states so maybe im biased. |

I'd appreciate it if people did not make sweeping assumptions about me and my country...!!! |

As I recall it was not people from the UK that hate your country so much they hijacked planes and flew them into buildings. |

The British take the piss out of everyone, it's nothing personal. It's not really hatred for Americans. We just like to complain. |

Say you had a friend who you quite liked, but was always telling you how her car was better than yours because it was newer, that her house was better because it was bigger and that her dad was richer and bigger and would be able to beat your dad in a fight.
Now regardless of whether that was true (perhaps you prefer older houses and cars) wouldn’t that tick you off just a teeny bit?
If it would, please tell some of your country folk to kindly STFU occasionally
American’s did not invent everything or win every war on their own, it is not the freest country in the world, nor the happiest, nor the greatest….just the richest.
We (or at least I) don’t hate Americans…. but boy can you be annoying!
God bless America…… 13th best place in the world to live |

No...(im British).
We dont hate the US. We hate people in England who dress like Paris Hilton and say I'm an American girl. We also hate the people off my super sweet 16. But we don't hate the US.
The reason people dont like you that much though as in your government is because of the Iraq war and stuff because our public believes you started the war and we had to join in and they didnt want that happening.
But otherwise its just grumpy old men who are scared of anyone that doesnt live in their town/city.
Oh yeah we do hate Americans when they have this 'im the best' attitude towards everything. Americans are arrogant-they apparently have the best country, the best army, the best food(ok i agree i love burgers). But this isnt with all Americans and Im sure loads of you are nice and honest people. |

Generally I don't think there is a huge anti-american sentiment in the UK. The Iraq war is a bit of a sore subject for a lot of students that I know but aside from this I think it's just silly sterotypes. Like the UK tending to think the average american is overweight or the US thinking that all British people have bad teeth. |

I'm British, and I'm married to an American, whom I love very much. I've been married for over seven years and its easy to see why the British hate the Americans. I've now live in America, and have worked with American's for the last two years. They are arrogant, big-headed and think they are the best people in the whole wide world. They think they have the best army, they think they have the best government, they think they have the best housing and generally they think that everything they have is better than everyone else in the whole world. It's so sad and so wrong, what they think. And the worst thing about Americans is that they think that all British people come from Australia. |

Don't hate you,
just get fed up with people from America's questions to us on YA.
Cos they are really rude, make false sweeping generalizations and seem to be too far up America's bum to be able to see the rest of the world. |

we don't hate the us mate
its that idiot bush we have a problem with when he tries to finish off daddies early work..it all gets too personal esp when the us tries to be international police ...causes all sorts of problems unnecessarily
alot of americans have no idea of the world at large ...I was in the us once and a marine asked me how long it took to get to he usa from england ON THE BUS! couldnt believe it I thought he was joking..you have a great country and largely decent people who love their country, just need to wind your necks in a bit and worry about your own selves first |

The UK and The US are inanimate objects and as such are unable to hate.
As your question is illogical there is no logical answer.
As someone from the UK I find the implication behind your question insulting to both the British and Americans and regard you as not merely curious but ignorant. |

Is it because some us citizens think were there lap dogs and will do whatever dc tells us, is it resentment that we support you in every campaign you start and yet british people don'y qualify for a us green card lotto mmm!!!! |

mmm...they don't really hate the U.S! I just moved from the I've lived in the U.k and live in usa now and there has never been any anti american sentiment while i've been there. True usa is hated by many, mostly middle eastern and communist governments though. |

britain does not hate usa!...you may get individuals saying that here on yahoo answers but they dont speak for the entire nation as a whole.
you have to remember people are much more likely to say they hate something here or be negative on a site like this. people wont go around saying..we like this country and that country, we dont hate you or you etcc...but you will get the minority of people with negative attitudes towards usa speaking up.
so this site isnt a fair judgement on a nations attitude in general.
i personally am happy we have usa as friends and allies and long may it continue.
edit: to your revised question....wealthiest country> most hated country. coincidence?
i dont know if you are the most hated biut you get the most attention throughout the world and therefore more opinions.
you look back over the 2nd half of the 20th century and a lot more people hated the ussr than america..has that changed so much or just gone under the radar? |

Your second attempt at additional detail says it all, if it were true that the US is hated, then your snotty attitude would explain why! |

i don't think what your saying is true at all.
i LOVE american people + i love their country, i actually wish i lived there.. florida, hawaii + california are the three states i've been to + the people treated me like i was family everywhere i went.
i'd appreciate more people like the americans in england as most of the people here now are becoming more rude + ignorant + i don't want that rubbing on me.
I LOVE AMERICA + IT'S PEOPLE.

i do not have any problem with american people as individuals, but i do not like american policy and the fact that our country seems to feel the need to follow like a little lost sheep.
america goes to vietnam, we follow you in along with australia, america goes to iraq (first time) and even though saddam is a friend to us, we follow on, america goes to afghanistan, still nothing to do with us and then london gets bombed killing innocent people
also certain comments like george bush saying america is "the worlds oldest democracy" he obviously never heard of the roman senate, a pure democracy before the time of julius caeser, or "america invented the atom bomb" it was invented by a german, oppenheimer, but england built it and america supplied the plane (the pilot was czech)
sorry, feel like i had a little rant, not intended but i think you were after an honest opinion :o) |
