British, or rather Scottish. . .Help sought by an Italian fellow, could you help me please?

Well, I am an Italian man, aged 32 still looking for a permanent job.So far I only got temporary positions and I am a bit tired of that.Today I received an invitation for a phone interview regarding a job I applied for. It's a full time job as a switchboard operator at a Hilton hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland.I reckon they will give me a live-in accommodation too.Would you be so kind to tell me how Edinburgh is?I' ve never been there so I'm totally in the darkness. And would you think it would be nice for me to move there from Italy?
Please, any sensible advice about this will be highly appreciated.

Ciao from Italy.

You will love it here. However my son works in the Caledonian Hilton and I would double check that they will find you accommodation - its not guaranteed. Good luck.

It's freezing cold and pisses down with rain all year round, oh and it's pitch black at 3.30 in the afternoon.
You still want to leave italy?

Edinburgh is great,Hilton's are fun to work in but please make sure you have accommodation first as it will be difficult to find good affordable accommodation in the city. Also make sure it's not the Hilton at Edinburgh Airport or you will be bored!!!! It would be difficult not to enjoy living and working in Edinburgh. Good Luck.Ciao from Scotland :-)

Loads of Italians live in Edinburgh, It's easy to get around every things central. It's expensive to live. And very cold. I'm sure you will love it here and be made to feel very welcome. Best of luck.

Edinburgh is a lovely city, not as good as Glasgow forty odd mile down the road, you will be pleased to know that we have a pizza shop and we sell spaghetti in our supermarkets. We also sell pasta and there is Fiat cars although we drive on the other side of the road. Your football team scored a last minute goal against Scotland, but hey that will only be a fleeting memory for customers in your Scottish hotel whilst the European championships are on

Edinburgh is lovely, it has its bad parts too like any other capital city, its damp and cold in the winter and its quite expensive to live there, but if you're getting acommdation provided then thats a start, come to Glasgow, the people are friendlier
