When you are going to something better, why would you want to watch the American channels that you are escaping from?

I think they do. I envy you soooo much! I wish I was moving to UK! I swear, I'd give up my family to be able to move there. That is where my heart (and soul) are! I am of Irish decent, but also have distant relatives in London. Wish I could be there! Rock on!

Well British telly is so different from America, presuming your from America. I am American and I lived over there for almost 5 years,( my husbands is British is why we lived over there) but you will soooooo enjoy the shows they have over there, you will probably be fascinated to see how different it's from US TV. I recommend a show called Eastenders on BBC. Believe me you will be entertained by there shows. Oh.. and yes they do have American shows but you most likely will have to buy Sky Cable (cable satellite television). I hope you enjoy the United Kingdom as I have. Where are you moving to? I lived near Gloucester in Gloucestershire west England. Wishing you the Best = )

We have some of the best TV programmes in the world.....enough of them are shown throughout the rest of the world to confirm that statement,...having said that, we also get a load of rubbish as well...as do other countries...it's all down to personal taste. We do air a considerable amount of American programmes...NCIS, CSI, 24, Without A Trace,,,(Anthony La Paglia...yum yum!) E.R. etc. If where you are moving to has cable TV or SKY, then you may be able to get some American channels...mostly news ones though. Don't worry about it as you will find plenty to do in our country to keep you entertained.

Enjoy your time with us!

Don't really get any channels, get a couples of news channels on sky, but we do get American shows.

No they do not receive American channels or stations. They are inundated with American Broadcasting though. Also you can see the next best show there before it gets ruined in the United States. here is an example of the stations programming. A little different from ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.

This is part of the Monday Night Lineup.
8:00PM 8:30PM 9:00PM 9:30PM

BBC 1 Holby City / Jill Dando's Murder: The New Evidence
BBC 2 Home / Lost Cities of the Ancients
Channel 4 A New Life: Risking It All / Supernanny
Channel 5 Perfect Disaster / CSI: Miami
ITV Anglia Holidays Undercover / The Bourne Identity

When I went there in the 70's, they not only get our stuff, 1/2 of their news is about us!!!!! It sure made me homesick for the USA to see our country on their tvs.
