No, the USA are fine on their own and I'm sure our Government have no desire whatsoever to join with the USA.

I wonder why there is so much anti-British stuff going on tonight/this morning? :( Some people ought to look to their own before they start insulting others.

You say that you love our sense of humour and yet have totally missed that the poster of this question is probably pulling your leg....and quite honestly after what present day American's ancestors did to the Native Indians you have no place criticizing our ancestors for what they did.

You will lose your superpower status ere long as many countries now have more economic powers, more people to put into armies if it came to a war, and nuclear weapons, and a President who thankfully is going soon. But he has been your worst ambassador, because many people do judge americans on your stupid President.

Do you seriously think the USA has its accent because it became independant. It wasn't just British people that settled in the USA, it was German, Irish, Italian, Spanish etc etc. And it wasn't the French who decided to leave the empire either.

Why would you want to live in the UK? Seriously? The cost of living is twice the price of the U.S. The U.S. is a much larger country with much better benefits. Whatever the forumites think of our President, policies etc. is frankly not relevant!

I live in Arizona. The cost of living is so much less than the UK that it is laughable and we have a great job market here! We don't have gloomy weather and tons of immigrants (okay, we do have some, but we love em!) My house is 3000 sq feet with a pool! How much space would you get in the UK (London especially) for the same $$?

I would love to see more in Europe and that is the only reason that I would want to live in the UK although I do actually adore most Brits that I have met because I love their sense of humor & expressions!

Regardless of my appreciation of most Brit's fantastic personalities, looking back in history, their ancestors actually stole a lot of major historical antiquities due to their world dominance (a long time ago) and so of course, I want to see those in the British Museum since they are no longer in their native countries.. ie Egypt, Turkey.. etc etc.

Maybe you need to get out on your own and pay your own way rather than having your parents pay? Eh? If you did that, you would realize that you likely can't afford it on your own in the UK.

Maybe I am out of line, but you seem a little dense.. honestly! I may be wrong, so please explain where you are coming from? You just seem like your are trying to incite something and your comments were so ridiculous that I signed up to comment.

accents are caused by atmospheric conditions in certain places, if you live in a port such Liverpool or New York your accent is nasal- just an example

Officially, the UK only came into existence in 1800. As US became independent in 1776 from Great Britain, it never was part of the UK.

If you check your history you'll find that the United States of America doesn't lose many wars. If you start one with us to get us back, you'll likely end up with an American passport. Love the British, but God bless America!
