OK....here it goes....
i got my FIRST passport 2 days ago...and from taking my photo in Woolworth's to getting my passport took.............
wait for it................
5 days !
and here is how....
fill out passport form (get someone to sign it)
get photo
now heres the secret!!
go to a travel agent to check it for mistakes (cost about 6 - 7 £)
you write a cheque out (or cash) for the application and their fee for checking....
they put it into a priority bag (it's a blue plastic envelope)
they send it off same day...
the passport office give priority to these bags....
and wooooosh...ding dong (almost) instant passport |

Yes if you go up to the passport office and wait they will do it for you there but you might have to go back the next day, but my boyfriend got his checked by the post office then sent it off and it was back in a week so you might be lucky |

Not for first passports. Renewals can be obtained in 2 weeks if you are willing to pay for it. Speak to the passport office. |

I applied for my family's passports in the middle of April. I had received my accompanying documentation and passports within 12 days of sending off applications.
I needed 5 passports. Using normal sevice.
The only thing that will determine how quick you will get your passports qucikly is the number of passports being processed at present.
Being August there maybe more people applying for passports ready to go on their summer vacations. |

If it's your first passport it might take longer, but, fill in your application form, with the relevant documents, and take it to a post office where they will check it for £7. Make sure though, that when you have the photos taken, that there is no hair anywhere near your eyes, no glare from your glasses, etc., as the post office will make your have the photos done again - extra cost, more delays!! |

Yes you need to get an appointment with the nearest passport office. You need to phone them first cos there will be documents you need to take with you. Costs you a fair bit more than a passport the normal way. |

yes look on the passport agency website. as long as its a renewal and not lost/stolen/damaged you can do it in one day. my daughter did this recently. theres a phone no on the website and they were helpful you need an appointment to go to your nearest passport office with all your ID photos, completed form etc and then theres 2 choices, first you can wait 4 hours then go back and collect it thats £108, or you can submit it then they send it to you in about a week thats about £91. we went for the first option as having gone all the way to london for the sake of a few pounds it was worth hanging around to have it in your hands. my daughter did hers the day before she went. the only thing i would say is make sure you have everything completed properly the form countersignature if necessary, correct photos and some ID otherwise it will be a waste of time, also you must have an appointment u cant just turn up. good luck |
