Can anyone tell me a great location to move to in the uk? |
I'm planning to move out for a year or two out of my country for a foreign experience and since this is going to be my first time out abroad by myself i was actually looking for a really interesting place to move in to in the UK area.. It has to be somewhere relatively cheap, convenient, not boring and most of all it's gotta be a place for work! I'd very much appreciate your suggestions on the matter.. thanks very much |

It really depends on what kind of job you want. If you want a job in the tourist industry (e.g. working in a shop, behind a bar..) you could head for Cornwall on the west coast, which has amazing beaches and a laid-back atmosphere.
London of course would be a great place to live and work but that's really expensive.
The most beautiful places in England are the Lake District and the Peak District (further north in England) and you could try getting a job in a hotel or bed and breakfast.
Hope this helps :-) |

crawley in west sussex is an up and coming industrial area with lots of job oppertunities, even though the area is not cheap the wages reflect that and it is easy to comute to london and gatwick airport, you should really consider this as a great oppertunity, good luck and i hope you find what you are looking for. |

Kent is a lovely place, full of tourists in the summer, perhaps a seaside town with a summer trade would suit you better ,i.e. Cornwall, Devon. The lake District and Scotland / wales would also be a good choice ,there are plenty of hotels etc, where you could find live- in jobs. You could also contact The English Tourist Board for more information. |

Devon and Cornwall are the best for beaches and countryside..... not so great for jobs though (although exeter and plymouth wouldn't be that bad i guess)
Bath is a gorrrgeous city...
Bournemouth!!! <- great nightlife, large town, lots of foreigners because of the university.... great beaches .. and not that expensive... ( and it's not THAT far from London!) |

are you into beach life, then Devon or Cornwall, like Torquay or New quay, get a job and have lots of fun ! |

Bristol is good - you get really cheap, scabby areas as well as the posh ones. You get all sorts here, and there are a lot of jobs in construction going, as the city centre is being redeveloped on a massive scale. |

Try the Midlands- much cheaper than the south, lots to see, and if you stay near a bigger city, plenty of nightlife. |
