I travel to the USA frequently on a UK passport. You can stay for 90 days without a visa. While on the flight you will be asked to fill out a visa waiver form. This you hand into immigration on your arrival.
Have a wonderful Christmas break in the US. I envy you. :)

er....im english and have been to america many times it should work however if you have only had an account for a couple of months, take your visa just incase and a driving license

Lou
Yes as long as you have a valid britsh passport, there should be no problem.

EDIT: sorry you still shouldn't have a problem as long as if it's under 3 months.

No you dont need a visa anymore to visit America for a holiday x

Kate D
you don`t need it, so have a great time, just come back from LA so its for sure:)

Yes, you will be able to go fine. If it's less than 3 months you're fine.

Flapjack empire
Yes you can go to the states with a passport. Visas are required for longer stays over 3 months. Get details from your post office.

The UK is part of the US' Visa waiver scheme therefore British Passport holders are eligible for this scheme. Bascially you fill out a green form on the plane and then the immigration people let you in.

Lauren
No...its fine

Check with your travel agent. New regulations are coming in for Visitors to the US and only those passports with digital passports will be allowed entry on the visa waiver programme. This is being introduced soon but not sure exactly what date. You will be ok if you have one of these passports and will know if your passport is ok if
a) there is a computer readable strip of numbers and letters on the photo page of the passport, and
b) the photo is actually part of the page rahter than your photo just stuck on the page. Most passports renewed in the last 3 years will be this sort but if your passport is older then send it off and change it now.

USA imigration take great delight in rejecting anyone wheneve rthey can , they are some of the most obnoxious , offensive people I have come across anywhere in the world and have no understanding of manners and customer care. Dont give them an opportunity to send you back home because that makes there day.

So check your passport and if in doubt renew it now...

Rebecca
Course you can. If you are going for less than 3 months and have a machine readable passport, then you don't need to apply for a visa before you travel.
On the flight on the way over the flight attendants will hand out visa waiver forms which you fill in and hand in to the immigration officers.

I think you used to need a visa for a holiday in America, but may not now. Haven't been in a while. Check with your travel agency, and your embassy to be doubly sure.

Common Sense
Ask a travel agent / the airlines or call an Embassy or Consulate.
