Drop a few kids and sit on your bum drinking beer the rest of your life. That's the way some people do it! |

Good luck with that!
I give it a month and you'd be crawling back home to your parents.
EDIT: No now you have annoyed me. It's not "I have the money to get a place" at all. You need to run it! Got money for Water, Gas, Electric, I assume you'll want a phone, TV, food, furnitue, council tax...? The list goes on! And you can afford all that with a part time job, under 18 min wage whilst in High School doing GCSEs? Dream on. Wait till your 17 and just have a car to pay for on a part time job, thats hard enough for me.
Be realistic! |

Yeah.
But pretty much every teen in England thinks that they're going to move out at sixteen until they get to that age and realise how young they still are! |

and who is going to support you? Pay your bills, and put a roof over your head? The grass is not greener on the other side!
You can leave home providing you are supporting yourself and not coming to any harm, if you do your parents can take you back until you are 18. When you turn 16 you don't just suddenly develop the maturity and life skills that is required to live your life safely. You have alot to learn |

yes you can....but honestly...think seriously before you make that move...there's no place like home!! |

Yes you can leave home from 16 and over in the UK. I know when i was your age all i wanted to was leave home, but i'm now nearly 18 and still living at home, rent, bills etc just wasn't my scene just now. |

Snakeman !

How exactly are you going to afford the rent, electricity, gas, council tax, food etc etc etc....?
Or are you expecting us tax-payers to support you ! |

I hate it when people post stupid answers, cause your question is obviously serious.
I'm 17 just now and I couldn't imagine leaving home, but then you're probably a lot more independent than I am :-)
I don't think you should move yet, wait till you leave school and start uni/college and then you can live in halls or get an apartment of your own :)
Good luck with whatever you do, and happy new year :D |

Technically you can but it is unlikely that you'll be eligible for a council house and how would you support yourself |

You can leave home at whatever age you like as long as you have the money. At 16 though, I really don't think you've taken into account everything that needs paying for. There's the mortgage (unless you're planning on paying for the house up front in cash), tax, council tax, electriciy + gas bills, TV license, food costs. Do you even have a job? Or were you planning on sponging?
I'm 16 and I don't even know how to use a washing mashine never mind pay for a house. |

you can.. as i was planning to do the same until i was made to consider having to pay for; electric, weekly and daily food etc. if you have the money then go for it 'cus it is legal.. just hard work! good luck though :) x |

legally you can but you may have trouble finding a landlord who will let a 16 year ol stay, also although you have enough money the bank wont give you a morgage, but you can moe in with a mate, hope it helps ! |

You'll find it very hard to get your own place at 16, housing lists in this country are exhausted! Best to wait until you're 18 or even better 21 |

Yes you can do this, believe me you will be a lonely person, my daughter did it and was back home before she got to Uni. Good luck. Time enough to leave home. |

yes you can legally leave home at 16. don't listen to people that say you cant do it! you are obviously feeling desperate enough to leave home, so maybe home is that bad?
we obviously don't know what you going through. maybe talk to someone that you can explain everything too. Citizens advice or even call childline 08001111. might sound stupid but they might be able to help.
good luck and don't give up on what you want. we all need to follow Dreams even if they don't work out. just make sure you have someone there to help you out along the way. |
