Anyone American with a lot of money certainly can !! It's worse than California + NYC put together.......well not quite....but close.
Housing has always been at a premium in London. |
|

Meeeee!

They are much more expensive in London than other areas of the UK. |

Very expensive. Whether you can afford a house in London does not depend on your nationality. It depends on how much you earn!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I doubt it, unless you have a very well paid job.
Houses in the UK are very expensive now, most younger people here can't even afford to get their first one. |

Yes! Madonna bought one.
The cheapest flat in a reasonable area of Greater London costs a minimum of £200,000. ($412,000). |

Houses are very expensive in the UK compared to prices in Continental Europe. Especially in and around London the prices for real estate are skyrocketing. It has become so bad that many Londoner's can't afford housing, even though they get paid almost double compared to the rest of the UK. Multimillionares are rather buying flats than whole houses bc of the cost of real estate. Buying a house in London is similar to buying a house in New York City - it is not for everybody. |

Yes, Donald Trump could
Yes, houses are expensive in the UK, and London is the most expensive, and one of the most expensive cities in the world. |

it depends on if they had alot of money in the us like over a million or two. then they can buy a good house in london |

London is VERY VERY expensive, but it completely depends on how much you earn to be honest. The BBC link below has average prices for different sized properties to give you an idea. |

It depends on how much money you make. Housing in London is VERY expensive. If you want to look at some houses for sale, check out http://www.findaproperty.com/listcounties.aspx?edid=00&salerent=0&countyid=11 and remember to double the price to find out how much it would cost in dollars. |

Three bed terrace houses in my area (approx 7 miles from the centre of London) sell for an average of £240,000 (Over $493,000). It isn't a posh area either. |

It depends on how much you're earning. House prices in London are high but mortgages are given based on earnings.
There are plenty of property websites you may want to take a look and I've provided links. Some concentrate on properties listed with estate agents; other concentrate on private vendors. |

omg i dont think so, london is so expensive right now... why london? cheaper in the north west...maybe birkenhead or rock ferry?? (somewhere between liverpool and chester) |

that depends on how many dollars you have and on which area of london you want to live in |
|

Paul
|
Well It does depend how much they earn actually. Houses in London are far more expensive then anywhere else in the Country, so definitley consider other areas, such as the North East or Yorkshire or Midlands |

Houses in UK especially in london are very expensive.
Its one of the most expensive cities in the world afterall :)
but buying a house here is not impossible. properties in north an east london are cheaper. I would suggest dont look for houses in central london as they are very expensive to rent/own.
Good luck |

Also, don't forget that the average house in London, is smaller than in the USA . Prices are going up all the time. My house has increased in value by £17,000 ($34,000) in eighteen months, and I live in East London. |

Depends how much money you've got and what you class as expensive. |

Small houses in London cost £300,000 or more, that's over $600,000, so you'll need to be a rich American. Taxes and costs for other things are also higher in London than the US. |

They are expensive
Well if your moving from high-end New York to London then they could afford a bigger house but if they are moving from say Kansas to London, then they might have to live outside of London |

the average 1930's semi detached house in a london suburb with garden and parking space?...is about £330,000...if you move into central london you will probably NEVER see that much money!...Also in the UK...houses,cars and most essentials are considered a luxury???...by the taxation system... |

they could. . . if they saved up. w/ the dollar being as it is you'd have to save for a while. . . *sigh* stupid dollar *sniffle and weep*
my brother is telling me that you could also "earn" a little money from exchanging currency. Apparently some ppl make a living with that. |

Yes, we are the richest country in the world, but you need to have a good source of money in America in order to buy a nice house in another developed nation as England, France, Italy, Spain, etc.... |
