Some places do accept euros and but you are much better off exchanging your currency for pounds as some of those that accept euro's give a lesser rate. You can exchange Euro's for Pounds at any Main Post Office free of charge. |

England or perhaps you meant the United Kingdom does not generally accept Euros . Many any retail places especially where I live in a tourist area of Scotland will be delighted to take euros in a transaction . Remember Post Offices in the UK will change your Euros to sterling without commission . |

Most shops in the major tourist areas of London such as Oxford Street/Regent Street will accept Euros, so will major hotels and large London terminal railway stations, but generally in England they are not accepted. |

Some places, especially where tourists go, will accept euros, but they'll give you a bad exchange rate.
"Normal" shops will only take pounds. |

We mainly accept pounds although in main cities such as London, euros are more accepted because it is a tourist spot. I'd take a few euros but mainly pounds to be safe :) |
