Oxford Circus is the area of London at the busy intersection of Regent Street and Oxford Street. It is served by Oxford Circus tube station, which is directly beneath the junction itself.
Oxford Street is a major thoroughfare in London, England in the City of Westminster. With over 300 shops, it is probably the world's largest shopping street.
It runs for approximately a mile and a half from Marble Arch at the north east corner of Hyde Park, through Oxford Circus to St Giles' Circus, at the intersection with Charing Cross Road and Tottenham Court Road. Eastwards, the road then becomes New Oxford Street until it runs into High Holborn. West of Marble Arch, Oxford Street becomes Bayswater Road or the A40 which continues west towards Oxford. Oxford Street intersects with other London roads including Park Lane, New Bond Street and Regent Street. |

Cristi@n has answered this question very well but with respect I can add a few extras. Oxford street is part of an old Roman road that ran from Hampshire to the Sussex coast. The Tyburn Gallows were at the marble Arch end and Oxford Street was originally named, Tyburn road, after a manor house that stood there. Park lane, which runs south from Marble Arch, was called Tyburn Lane. Oxford Circus was designed by Sir Henry Tanner and the South East section was built in 1913. The North East Section was built in 1923. The South West was built in 1925 and the North west in1928. The famous Peter robinson store was established there in 1833. As a London Taxi Driver I could tell you a lot more but I think I have bored you enough. |

Must input what is a fact and described by Cristi@n. Being an ex London Cabbie of over 30 years the answer given by Cristi@n is absolutely 100% correct.
The 10 points must be hers? |

It's been answered pretty well by everyone except the person claiming you can perform in Oxford Circus. I assume they are thinking of Picadilly Circus which actually has a place for pedestrians to gather and sit in the centre of the junction.
The junction that is Oxford Circus is not a place anybody should find themself in the centre of unless they are in a car or a bus! |

Oxford Street is a highway stretching from in the west from the junction with Park Lane at Marble Arch to the junction with Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road in the east. Extending east from there to the junction with High Holborn, it is called "New Oxford Street".
Under the UK road classification system, Oxford Street is part of the A40.
Oxford Circus is the name given of the junction of Oxford Street with Regent Street (A4201).
The importance of Oxford Circus as a road junction has diminished over the years, but beneath its surface lies Oxford Circus station, which is the busiest station on the London Underground network. |

This question has been answered already.
Oxford Street is a road, Oxford Circus is a roundabout at the junction of roads. It's called a circus because you go round it. What do they have in common? They are both places to avoid, as far as I am concerned. |
|

?
 |
No difference Both of them have nothing to do with Oxford. |

Oxford street leads into Oxford circus. When I was in my late teens I was disillusioned by london place names...I got on a bus and asked to be dropped off at Oxford circus. I thought I was going to see some clowns and performing animals but it just was a circular location. |

oxford street is an actual london street that begins at marble arch and ends at oxford circus, which is a junction or roundabout. circus means circular - just like the tent in a big top circus - and a "circus" street is a joining of 2 or more - usually 4 - streets and its circular to accommodate traffic. london has a few of these, the most famous being picadilly circus, which is at the end of regent street, and that actually starts at oxford circus ! |
