In the North we live on primitive peaks a attack people who venture into our lands with spears. |

Welcome To England

Although there are wealthy and poor areas in both north and south, the south is overall a lot wealthier, and people down here speak differently to those in the north (although every region has an accent, regardless of whether north or south).
Northerners are considered more friendly and are usually portrayed as working class, salt of the earth people, whilst southerners are often depicted as spoiled, middle-class and snobbish. There is an element of truth in that otherwise exaggerated sweeping statement.
Overall, I'd rather live in the south. Specifically London. |

North is colder and traditionally more industrial.
South is warmer and traditionally less industrial and wealthier.
Just a start for you... |

Both areas have vast differences in landscape, even with in them, although the north contains the majority of the big mountains (if not them all). The North contain's more countryside, wheras the south is more built up - however areas of the North are very industrialised - they still have less pollution then London though!
People down south tend to be richer then us northerners - but then we in the north are ten times friendlier, and will have more time for anyone - you'd look less wierd saying hi to a complete stranger in Newcastle then in say, London.
There are major accent variations throughout the UK - and not a "Northern" and a "Southern" one. We have Geordie, Yorkshire & Scouse in the North, wheras they have Cockneys, Bristol & a lot more people who speak "Queen's English"
I personally prefer the North - far more beautiful countryside - the people are friendlier, and its a nicer place to be - so naturally i'd rather stay in the North then move down to snob central |

Well..there are stereotypes but really we're not that different. One thing that is a fact is that it costs a lot more to live in the South than in the North, but then generally wages are higher in the South so it sort of evens itself out.
The stereotypes are that Northerners are more friendly than Southerners and that Northerners like to fight and are tough whereas southerners are seen as 'soft'. Southerners call Northerners 'Northern Monkeys' and Northerners call Southerners 'Southern Pansies'
The North has more unusual accents than the south(scouse, geordie). You tend to find the accents in the South are more like the accents Americans think all Brits have.
Also the weather tends to be a little bit nicer down south, the further North you go the colder it gets. Also there's a lot more countryside up north, we have the Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales to name but 2.
I live in Manchester, which is North, and I love it here. but then i've always wanted to live in Bournemouth which is South, for the lovely beaches. But I guess overall i'd say the North. |

i live in the south and contrary to popular belief we are not all country bumpkins and we dont all surf, but we do have hideous accents which make us all sound stupid. there are some nicer accents up north |

It's hard to see how anyone can claim that the South East is less built up than the North when London, a city of something like 8 million people, sprawls all over it like a metropolitan cancer. |

it looks different depending on what part of the north/south you are, but generally the south is more countryside-y, and the north is more built up, however there are dales in the north. people from the north are typically seen as being lairier, and people from the south more dignified and 'posh', but this isn't always the case. the south is more wealthy than the north.
i would prefer to live in the southeast, because i like being close to london :)
which is nicer to live in depends on personal preference.
