Hell no they don't. First off the British pound is worth so much more than the American dollar that it's not even funny. Secondly, nobody really wants to be tied to the US and G.W. Bush right now. Our president is making the entire middle east mad right now and Britian is a hell of a lot closer to Iraq and Iran than the US is.

The UK is its own country. So No! This is stupid.

emmiboo
The US has a lot of good things but its not as free as Britain. here in britain although we are not 100% free (no country is 100% free otherwise there would be chaos, no laws etc) we are a lot free-er than in the US. I'm not slagging the US off. I have been there many times and it has so many things that other countries should be jealous of but your "freedom and democracy" are not to be envied. sorry!

No thank you.

I take it you have not travelled much, definitely not to Europe anyway. The world is much bigger than the USA, I feel you need to escape the bubble, travel... it will do you good!

Of course not...you know - they aren't entrapped in any way! Those Britons who wish to be American, simply do so...but the nation itself, is America's Mother Nation, and quite happy to watch her child from afar! ;)

In the 1970s Britain was in discussions to become an American state but as you know now we became part of the European Union instead. Britain has a lot more in common with America than they do with Europe. As the third richest country in the world it would not now be financially benificial for us to become an American state

woht
Of course NO!
Any country needs anything from the US.
The US is one of the less democratic free and pacific countries on earth.
My god! Please help this friend to realise that the US is not the best country on earth!
