Do Brits know the Queen personally? |
Have they ever met her?
And do Brits watch British TV shows? Or do they depend on us for entertainment? |

Tens of thousands of people have met her, at summer garden parties, investitures, walkabouts and innumberable events she attends every week. She has a circle of friends and acquaintances like anybody else which is obviously an exclusive set but given her age and the amount she travels, she probably has a lot of friends.
British people watch British TV shows, as do Americans. The original British version of The Office was highly acclaimed in America, as are other shows. |

Most people have not met the Queen. I personally find British television shows superior to US ones. |

Even people who have met the Queen wouldn't be able to say that they knew her personally. Can you imagine the number of engagements she attends in a year? Thats a lot of people.
We do celebrate her birthday. In fact she has 2. One official and her actual birthday. The official celebration is full of pomp and pagent and is seen and televised all over the world. Also, people come from allover the world to see it.
As for entertainment. Its the quality that counts, not the quantity. |

Very few know her personally. There are many more people who have seen the queen in person once in their lifetime but still most have never actually spoken to her or anything.
The BBC (British tv and radio) has their own shows. They even make their own movies over there, but not many. Most do watch American tv and movies too though. |

Very few brits have any thing to do with the royal family.
I don't know who "us" refers to but there are plenty of good TV shows produced in Britain |

There are 60 MILLION British people in the UK - do you really think the Queen has time to know us all personally? No. Of course a few do - she's not a hermit. Lots of people have met her; she attends a lot of public events, and the British watch mainly British TV. They watch American TV too; principally Friends, The Simpsons, Frasier, Will and Grace, etc. But the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is the world's largest broadcaster. |
