No, but you should have picture id

Photographic ID has to be used. Passport, Driving License or Electoral ID card for air travel.

For Norse Merchant Ferry
PASSENGER IDENTIFICATION
All passengers of the age of 18 or over must provide identification in the form of; A valid passport, Valid photographic EU national identity card, Valid photographic driving licence, Valid police warrant card/badge, Citizen Card or a Valid Government-issued identity card at check-in. If a passenger does not have appropriate identification, they will be refused travel.

No. Belfast and London are within the same country, UK.

Depends on the airline. Generally a picture ID is enough, That is if you are a british citizen

you shouldn't ... its within the same country ... I didn't need one when I flew from glasgow to london.

debs1701
As long as you have another form of photographic ID, you do not need a passport to fly anywhere in the UK. If flying further abroad then yes, you do require a passport.

As for travelling via a boat, I'm sorry but Im not sure about that one.

Just to clarify, the United Kingdom is officially known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. London is the capital of the entire United Kingdom. Travel between cities within the United Kingdom do not require a passport. However, travel by air requires some sort of personal identification. A passport or driver's license should meet this requirement. A visit to the airline's website will give full details on the requirements.

country to country is always passport now.

Pantherempress
Yes for both because you are leaving the country
