I was born and raised in London England. I have been living in the US for 4 years now. I have lived in various places in the US and stayed in different places in the UK such as Wales etc.
What you need to know.

1) The Weather in London is bad. If your from a sunny place you will have to adjust to weather in London. People are grumpy
during the winter and nice during the summer.

2) It is beneficial if you have MONEY. I am not sure but I believe
London is the most EXPENSIVE city to live in the world.

3) People in London are quite foreword they don't beat around the bush.

4)There is always something to do. London is so big you should EXPERIENCE all of it. There is a lot of ways to have FUN.

5) People are real they are not fake.

6) There are 5 parts of London. North, South East, West and
Central London. The most exciting areas are Central London
and West London but consider the other parts of London they
may not be what you like at first sight but if you look deep you
will learn and EXPERIENCE a lot.

7) You need someone who knows London very well. London is so big that you will need 2 or three people to help you. If you want to EXPERIENCE all of it.

8) London has many different cultures not like San Diego.
I am serious when I mean many different cultures.

9) Watching a tape that tells you about London will not help you
that much you have to EXPERIENCE London PERSONALLY.

10) There is so much nightlife arts, sports etc.

11) London is very BUSY you may not like the constant hustle and bustle.

YOU SHOULD LIKE LONDON

I live in england and may i add it's not a very good place to live any more..
1.Too many chavs (people who go around in groups thinking they're the best)
2.Too many illegal immigrants!!
3.The weather (lol)
4. It's becoming very hard finding jobs now in england
5.High taxes,
6. Council tax
7. Interest rates
8.Labour government
9.Very poor nhs

Hi, I live in the West Midlands of the UK (about 20 miles away from Birmingham), and I do like it, but I have never lived anywhere else! I love London though and plan to move there when I have finished Uni. It's such a beautiful city.

Yes, the change in climate will be quite drastic - we have a lot of rain and ice here, and the winter can be FREEZING! The cold is good though, sometimes!

London is ok, i wouldnt want to live there myself though its a bit run down and isnt that friendly in alot of areas. I would try somewhere on the south coast. Try Brighton or Bournemouth (i lived there for a whille). They are fairly expensive places to live but are nice places to live.
(i am English).

England is an amazing place! It was a ton of fun during my stay of four years. Although the weather is a bit unpredictable and it's a tad bit chillier than what you're used to. I suggest you go and give it a shot!

lol. I live just outside of London but we go to the city often. it will definitely be a great climate change. it rains here...about 80% of the time but i love it here. depends where exactly u go to say anything about people but there is more than enough entertainment, shopping, eating places and anything else you would need. also, london has some of the best sights which everyone should see at some point. it would be a difference and u may end up hating it but I would definitely recommend you try. after all how else will you know? good luck!

i live in Leicester which is about 2-3 hours away from London but relatively similar landscape..i like living in England, although the rates of crime are pretty high in some areas..especially if you live somewhere like London, you have to be careful where you go and when..you dont wanna be wandering round London on your own late at night lol.i guess it would be a pretty drastic climate change for you,i hear you get a lot of sunshine in california..England is,in my experience, often quite windy, rainy and muggy, although our summers are quite nice most of the time..be careful where you choose,i know for a fact the happy-go-lucky way they portray some parts of England in travel brochures isnt often the full picture.try going for a trial run,say a week or 2 as a small dose, then if you like it try 3-4 weeks, then a couple of months,or just go ahead and move in straight away.

I live in Wales, which is part of the UK, it will be a dramatic climate change as Britain tends to be cold and rainy. In the summer months it can be quite nice though. I like living in Wales, it has some beautiful scenery and a lot of character.

I stayed in London for a few days, it was OK, I live in the middle of the countryside so it was a bit of a change. London has the advantages of having great shopping, nightlife, and lots of sights and attractions to see.

I live in the east end of London and I hate it. It's violent ,not safe to walk the streets after dark, dirty, people are rude and not enough english white people.

If you can tolerate the destruction of the English language. If you you can tolerate any part of Europe and their odd beliefs. Yes you will be ok there.
