No you don't but it's a good idea to have some ID like a drivers licence, if you were flying, some airlines still require them but you'll be ok on the ferry.

Have a good crossing, I've done it dozens of times.

No. Both part of the UK. But you will still need some sort of ID just in case.

No....you only require a passport to fly, ferry is ok, my daughter goes over every 8 weeks (holyhead-dublin) to see her dad, she has never been asked for her passport or any form of ID

No you don't, both are part of the United Kingdom.

Charles S
No. You're travelling from one part of a country to another part of the same country. You may need some form of ID, though, for security checks.

Esther
No, but a form of ID would be useful not only when crossing but in case you need to buy alcohol.

Since you are visiting Northern Ireland, you can have a look at this website:

Both part of the UK until you leave the UK you do not need a passport, but anytime you are leaving to go to any other country, fiefdom, kingdom you need your passport.

Sexybabe
no i dont think you need it because there both part of the United kingdom (thank goodness! lol!) but i think it can be fun if you want to come to the us i'll be there! but fortunatly ferry's are fun

Chuck the Egg
No, you are travelling within the united kingdom. However when flying you do sometimes require a photo form of identification, Im not sure if ferries are the same.

No you don't because Ireland and England are both part of United Kingdom. But you should bring it just in case, you know?

Thom
You have to swim if you are Irish.
