Yes you need a passport to travel anywhere including internal flights now. This is the same on a ferry. Cost of aUK passport is £66 and you can get a form from the post office,

Yes your passport will be checked at the ferry check-in and I guess when you get off in Spain, but if not it'll def be checked when ou come back from Spain. You always need a passport every time you leave a country to enter another one, no matter what form of transport you are taking. Have a lovely time x

it,s the british end where you need a passport for sure and you sure need proof of who you are in spain......... we do not have to show passports when we cross from one country to another in the european union as all boarder controls are gone but in austria and swizz they still check that you have a vinnette/picola to drive on motorways there so in effect they still check you out

val f1 nutter
yes definitely. they will not let you through passport control if you do not have one

I can't remember whether you'll need to show your passport when you get on the ferry because it's been a few years since I've left the country on a ferry. You will, however, need a passport to enter Spain.
