I would rather them nuke us, they don't speak english, they say they won the WW2, they think they have good cars.
I'm considering becoming a terrorist myself, and i'm as white as a golf ball. |

That would be a turn up for the books wouldn't it. Didn't the USA and UK fight a war because the yanks didn't want anything to do with the Brits? |
|

Sorry, but no one wants to join you guys!!!!!
The UK is a very proud and nationalistic place. They don't even really want to do the whole European Union thing, let alone join the USA. Also, there's a lot of anti-USA feeling in the UK, like everywhere.... |

Throw away over a millenium of history and culture to join the most unpopular country in the world?
Not a chance, matey. |

No, why should or would we want to join?
Two different countries, two different cultures and the whole Atlantic between them. |

I should be doing something else
 |
Ok, as you have probably picked up from everyone elses answers, the consensus is NO
Why would we ever want to be a part of the USA, name one good thing that the USA could offer us that we haven't already got?
If the USA wants to become a part of the UK and be ruled by us and adopt our laws and currency, and stop spelling and pronouncing words wrong etc then fine, but it certainly won't be the other way round. |

No i don't think anyone would want that, nor do many want to be part of The European Union, or should i say European Superstate, ruled by petty bureaucrats in Brussels. |

I never see illegal English in the US..............so I doubt it....and Canadians don't want to either.............
And there is that King thing and the Revolutionary war.............

God no. why would we want to join the U.S.A??? that would just make us a target for terrorist attacks.
We dont want to be part of America or Europe, we want to be restored to our former glory and have our empire back. |

I like USA but I think they should keep separate. I hear more people say that England should break away from UK. |

no no no not ever. you are not invaded by the english are you? we are not queueing up to get a green card are we? so why you should think that we want to join you is beyond me. your presidents are and always have been slime balls. your poor are the poorest in the world. you shoot each other daily. no thanks . you can keep your country. |

I'd rather be in the EU. And I really dont like that! We are very different from the USA, OK, we share our language, however we have a very different culture. In the UK we have a good, extensive public transport system, something that many areas in the USA simply dont have. If the UK became part of the UK, i'd go and live in Ireland or on the Isle of Man! Somehow though, I never see it happening! |
|

JT
 |
Wouldn't it be the other way round and the US joining the UK. You have more in common with us than we have with you, IE you speak OUR language we don't speak yours.
Besides didn't the USA fight for independence from the UK? |
|

'Er indoors!!

Judgeing by EVERYONE'S answers I guess you have your answer. I would personally shoot myself in the kneecaps first. |

No I certainly do not. The U.K. is in Europe; we should form far closer ties with the rest of Europe and join the Euro Currency. |
|

i think it should be the other way |

Doubt it...i certainly wouldn't want that... illegal wars (which Blair followed into), rigged (allegedly!) elections...i'd rather remain in this little backwater called Scotland...and not everyone speaks english as their choice language...what about GĂ idhlig and Welsh...they are first languages for thousands in the UK! |

No, we certainly do not want to join the US.
The US government is bullying the UK. (a bit less since Gordon Brown took over though). You can see it in the body language of the US president and the UK's Prime Minister.
Tony Blair's career as Prime Minister was ruined because of how unpopular the so-called 'special relationship' was and is.
The language is different. Fanny takes on a wholly different meaning in each country, we have different words for lots of things (e.g. candy is a non-existent word in the English language) and Americans miss out words e.g. the 'and' in 2008 and miss the 'u' out of, for example, colour and swap 's' for 'z' in 'isation'. Americans do not speak English, they speak American.
Put simply, we want to join with the rest of Europe instead. After all, Europe is the continent we live on and there is an entire ocean between us and the US. Literally and metaphorically. |

What would the USA gain from that? It's better for them the way it is: They tell the Brits what to do and they obey like a poodle. |
