As it happens there is a grave shortage of dentists in the UK. Well there are plenty of dentists but they only want to do private work as opposed to NHS work (National Health Service) where they earn less money. Only a few dental practices in each area does work on the NHS which is how the majority of people in England get there health service from. So they do have dentists, just not that many and it is very difficult to get space in an NHS dentist.
