raizanaki
its better than alot of places but then again theres alot of places id rather be

LauraLorLor
Well I haven't lived in the UK for four and a half years now but I spent the last two years at school there and I can't say I really enjoyed it. It's alright I suppose, I'll be going back late next year for uni but I'm not sure how long I'll stick around when I'm finished. Let's hope things will get better, as they only can according to the song.

I love the UK, and wouldn't think of leaving just yet, I think I'd miss it here rain or no rain.

There are parts of the country that are so beautiful, all you have to do is get out and enjoy it... You don't get such a mix of habitats in other countries, and we have many areas of natural beauty such as huge parks, forrest's, I would say mountains (but more like big hills), cliffs, beaches etc. Take the pictures below for example, who wouldn't want to wake up to scenes like these everyday?

If we didn't have the rain nothing would grow, we'd have nothing to moan about, fill awkward gaps in conversation, and no talking points with random strangers :-) Plus all the people I love live here, so why would I want to move?

Having grown up with copious quantities of random nature and place facts and only going on 'english' holidays (wales and ireland included) I think I was taught to appreciate from a young age how much you can do here. Walking aside, there are so many touristy things you can do, wherever you are, whatever the weather. Just learn to appreciate the UK, and the rain before Global warming dry's us up lol - you never know we could become a top tourist destination... maybe... in about 50 years??

i adore it. love it. I love every single day in England, YES...I am an anglophile, and it sure beats waking up to a blue sky day after day!

there's a low key drama about the weather in britain, on the whole theres no extremes, no hurricanes, tornadoes, gigantic volacanic explosions, tsunamis.....its simply beautiful.

AND WE NEED THE RAIN ! Love it.

CLIVE H
Yes, I was born here in UK and yes I love the weather, but like everyone else, I keep going on about how crap it is most of the time.

Guess by now at age 67 I should be used to it but it never fails to live up to the fact that the Island of Britain is overcast 75% of the time - I guess they mean at night as well!

The only thing which really ever changes here in UK is the date. We have the same old squabbles and debates just rehashed about every ten years.

To be or not to be, that is the question. . . .blah etc.

I was born in Scotland and I hate living here. The weather and the crime and the cost of living and taxes drive me mad.

Moved here from Sweden so I could find work.

It's okay here, but it sure rains a lot!! And even when it is not rainy it is still cloudy. Never a blue sky.

Yeah, I do. I love the freedom we have, even if people don't appreciate it. We have a vote, even if people don't use it, and we have a say.

It depresses me that more people vote for big brother than in elections, but then again, my political views seem to be different from everyone else's, so at least if no-one votes then they tories aren't in power.

I love the NHS, and I love the free education system. I think it's a brilliant system, and yes it has flaws, but I think it's better than the alternative.

I am happy to be paying tax so that others can claim benefits. I would rather some people misused the system, but those that genuinely need it can access it, than the rules and regulations be so strict that genuine cases suffer due to boundary lines.

I was born here, and I will stay here. I'm guessing the tories will get in next election, which will not be good in my eyes, but I'd still rather be here than anywhere else.

I was born in Singapore to R.A.F parents, and I can
say that despite all the moans and grumbles we
like to make about the UK, it's OK.

Believe me, there is a lot worse places to live
in the world.

On average, the UK gets about the same amount of rain as New York, and less than Texas or Florida.
But we get it spread out, with no "rainy season" to get it all done with for the year.

Up here on Bodmin Moor, wetter than the UK average, there's some rain, on average, half the days of the year (but that could be just a brief shower, to make the count).

And it's a great place to live, but then I picked it.
There are plenty of places in the UK I'd be less pleased to live.
But no other country I'm rushing to move to.
(fantasies of an old lighthouse on an island just off Vancouver aside.)
I've visited Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, USA...
Nothing crying out as better than the UK, for me.
