grow up girl and get back to school to learn more about england and our queen we have our own prime minister you would know that if 'like' you stopped talking about crap you know nothing about, also while your in school learn how to spell properly too or go and ask your daddy for some private tuition because your school is teaching you nothing dumb ***

America should learn to mind its own business and not meddle in other countries' affairs when they don't understand them.

Yankee Thunder
The royal family presides and has the final say but their parliament is elected just like our govt officials. And FYI, the US is not a democracy. It is a republic with democratic tendencies. For once the US should keep their nose out of other countries affairs and let them rule the way they want. It's no wonder the rest of the world hates the US. Thumbs down me all you want, but I didn't realize how much we are hated until I left the US.

Atheissimo
I'm assuming you are a troll because no one could be this retarded.

There is no 'Queen of England'. She is Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The Queen is not like the president. In the US system the President is both head of government and head of state, in the UK the Queen is head of state and the Prime minister is head of government.

The Prime minister is the one with power over the government, so they are elected. The Queen has no power over the government and is just a diplomat, so she dosen't need to be elected.

It's like the powers of the president are split and given to two different people, one of which is elected, the other isn't because they only deal with foreign visits.

We can't vote for a new monarch, but we do vote for our Prime minister, who is the one who actually has political power.

The Queen isn't the leader of the government like Obama is, that's the Prime minister's job, and he is elected like Obama.

It's like your vice-president. They aren't elected, nor do they have any power, but they do diplomatic visits to other countries and could have power if there was an emergency (like if Obama died).

The US wouldn't invade the UK because we are a Democracy, unlike Iraq. Our system is called a constitutional monarchy (where the monarch is bound by the constitution) that guarantees the right to free speech and elections to the parliament and such.

The UK does have nuclear bombs, we have the Trident missile system which is deployed through nuclear submarines.

The US has been friends with the UK (of which England is part) since before the 1st World War. That's why the two countries support each other in wars (Iraq 1 and 2, Afghanistan, North Korea etc.)

If you are considered 'good' in school then I fear for your eduction system.

no, lol.
were quite fine as we are, tar.
but thanks for your concern ;D

yeah and the queen does not do anything at all.
she sits in her palace eating corn flakes :)
we have a 'prime minister' and prime ministers are equal to your president.
so please don't bomb us, lmaoo XD

Are you really as stupid and uneducated as you sound, or are you just pretending to be?

ha ha, this is the funniest thing i've read in a while, thank you for the laugh, i needed it.

I would get some text books are read up on, firstly, what England, Great Britain and the United Kingdom are, and how all the terms are all conncted, along with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

I would also read up on The British Government, and the fact the queen is nothing more than a Traditional historic tourist attraction.

It's a good thing you are this so called popular girl, because you haven't got much else going for you, such as Intelligence

hahah

Sweety, Marry rich, else life will be a struggle for you

We had democracy in the UK way before the US was even created and Europe pretty much invented it i'm afraid.
The queen is actually a very good ambassador for our country, she does not rule over us like a dictator and there is a rich history behind our monarchy unlike anything in the US.

Mclovin
i agree with david, plus how u just described our queen is completely wrong. she does pretty much **** all imo, nothing like the president, our primeminister = ur president

the English monarchy goes back hundreds of years so it's english tradition to have a king or queen. England has a prime minister as well that they can elect just like a president. England is probably America's biggest ally so why the hell would the US invade England? I mean how old are you how can you not know this?

nmyankee
Too bad you didn't 'lernt' how to spell and, I'm positive, the Queen of England could help you in that department. I lived in the UK for 10 years and, surprise, surprise... they have the right to vote! You have a lot to learn about the history and government of America, haven't you? You, also, have a lot to learn about thinking of, and expressing, such violent thoughts.
I find it quite depressing to think that you're, actually, considering voting at any time in the future.
Hope you can understand the above - it's written in ENGLISH (mean anything to you?).

Interesting question, might I suggest you print this and send a copy to the NY Times, Washington Post and to the president himself - it is quite an advertisement for the US educational system. If you are even contemplating the idea of college - bring this along with your entrance form, such literary, geographical and historical genius would surely sway the acceptance/denial procedure.

The scary thing is your mentioning you will able to vote in a year (shades of florida 2000) provided of course you can fill out the registration form properly.

Just a suggestion try actually opening a book and reading it - radical as that may sound you may learn that the pages inside contain words on them.

Lois O
the queen is just a figure head, she has no real power. We only have a queen because it's traditional and also so we have somebody to put on our money. We have a prime minister and a government which we do vote for. We do live in a democracy and we certainly don't need freeing! Our prime minister is the equivalent to your president. we can't kill the queen she has done nothing wrong, she can't help which family she was born into. Even if we did get rid of the queen and the royal family it would not affect us in the slightest.
btw you seem a little immature for a 17 year old. you can't be 'friends' with the uk and not england. england is in the uk, seriously, get a map. also, the popularity comment didn't really help you much, there's more to life than being popular. if you were intelligent you would know that but you clearly aren't. your giving your country a bad name.
