Bramhall, Wilmslow, Prestwich, Didsbury, and Knutsford, all these are posh areas but the charities have clicked that they can charge for decent designer items.
I went into a charity shop in Wilmslow and it was selling M&S shirts for more than they cost new. It was more like a Bond Street boutique than a charity shop.
There are others in the town with more realistic expectations where a designer frock can be yours for a tenner.
Friends of mine travel from Manchester to Brighouse near Huddersfield for the charity shops.
He comes home with designer shirts, trousers, jackets etc that have cost pennies.

Altrincham, Withington, are probably best chances

Didsbury's the poshest in the city boundary. Worsley - poshest in Salford city area with charity shops in nearby Walkden.

In Manchester - try Didsbury & Chorlton.
South of Manchester you've got some very affluent areas in Cheshire - Alderley Edge & Prestbury amongst the richest. Also try Wilmslow and Bramhall.
