I'm a born&bred Londoner, who has lived in Spain for 18 years, and in Glasgow for then previous 20! I enjoy visiting London now, and still have lots of family there, the place still gives me a good feeling when I walk about - a 'this is where I come from' feeling? Every other city in the world has problems -London's no different, and all cities have their great points, and London's no different there either! Enjoy it! |

I love London! it's the best city in the world and i've seen a lot of other beautiful cities (Rome, Paris, Tokyo, Montreal, Madrid...) But London is my favourite because I love the english way of life, I love the parks, the museums are great (way better than the Louvre). I really love everything in London |

I live about 55 miles away from London & I love it. i love the Underground because I had to study the map as I had a friend come down from Cumbria & she didnt know anything about the Underground.
I get lost round the streets but that is ok . I can rememeber walking about 14 miles in a day round London!! |

Yes london has some great history to it and there are some good sights so see, but its nothing that special. Central london is where pretty much everything is, and thats not that big, once you get a few miles out of the centre, its not a very nice place to even drive through. Travel fares are a joke, and with the congestion charge, other ways of getting around except by foot or by bike are limited, but bikes and those stupid tricycle things are a nuisance, and a hazard to pedestrians and drivers in central london. I think london would be better if it was bigger, as it is so overcrowded, there is not really a soloution to help that.
All in all london is a good city (I wouldnt say great), its just too small for the amount of people. Its worth seeing once but there are far better places in the world to be, and also, as of the rest of the UK, everything is expensive so if your a tourist dont expect to come for a cheaper shopping spree!
(btw I live in north london) |

I'm not so impressed.
What can I say except that I have a 1 bedroom flat about 18 miles east of the centre of London on the north side of the Thames (Suit 2 adults without children)
I welcome a change so :-
Anyone, anyware, worldwide, fancy a swap with your similar home for a week, a month, two or more, each party pay's their own costs.
I'm open to offers.

What is London now? Like most other observers you can emphasise only its history. Remove from your mind its history and its historic landmarks and what have you? You then have just a characterless huge dump that could be anywhere in the world.
An integral part of the London of old was the native Londoner, whose unique character and humour was beloved by foreign visitors, and whose tenacity and resilience bravely withstood without submission the bombing raids from 1940 onwards. That gave rise to the historic expression "London can take it.". (Not even Northern Rock would have panicked them!) Those people and/or our offspring are very few and far between in London today.
London, as I then knew it, was, relative to today, crimefree. No guns, no knives, no drugs, no terrorists, no muggings or sexual assaults on lone women. If you love today's version of London, good for you, but to me it is now just a nondescript, uncivilised splash on the map. Perhaps it can only get better. Perhaps!!!!! |

Are you drunk?...seriously...are you drunk?
How can you know a city and say you love it?
I know New York, London, Chicago, Copenhagen, Istanbul,...
These are places with serious problems that can be ignored by this tourist BS about loving cities...
Talk about the dirty linen...otherwise your message is propaganda...
You want to **** you way to wisdom...be my guest little boy... |
