No, but if you are flying within the UK you will probably need some kind of photo ID. Check with your travel company before you go.

If you travel by plane then yes they will probably want a passport or other photo id

You do not need a passport but you will need some form of an official ID or document ie birth certificate, drivers licence if you want to travel by plane, but anything else you do not need a passport !
