No, since there is a common travel area between the UK and Ireland BUT remember that your airline might require photo Id. |

No a driving licence with your picture on will do ,a passport is better but if you dont have one then use the picture licence . i travel to and from both places and not always used by passport. |

You need photo ID, like a driving license or something (a passport would be fine too of course). |

No, but you will need photo ID if you are going by air and you will probably need other proof of identity if you are going by sea. |

No you dont need ID if your a european national, but you will if your overseas national look on the Eire website.
If your flying then the airline might want some proof of ID like a photocard.
if its the ferry then no. |

Contrary to the uninformed rubbish being posted in reply to this question by many of the answerers, UK citizens do NOT require a passport to enter the Republic of Ireland - airlines may insist on them for ID purposes, but that's a matter for them, not the governments concerned. You can walk, drive, or take the train or bus across the border from Northern Ireland without any border formalities, and last time I took a ferry from Wales there weren't any ID formalities either.
The United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man form a Common Travel Area and do not have any internal passport checks. |

you need a passport to board any international flight even if a passport inst strictly neccesary. i believe you even need to take one for domestics too since we dont have a lphoto identity card in this coutry and since you have to provide photo id, your passorts the thing. |

Technically yes. Do they ever check it? I can't recall a time they ever did! But, don't go without it. Seriously. |
