Thank you.

It has all the fast food restaurants you can think of and as you are a captive audience the prices are extortionate.

Forget McDonald's and it's dodgy oil that furs arteries and causes heart attacks. Forget McDonalds and it's Ice Cream that contains no dairy produce but does contain loads of chemicals etc. etc. Try Burger King! If I recall correctly, there is a BK in Terminal 2 and it's prices are roughly only about 10p more expensive per item. Another suggestion is eat at the Weatherspoons pub, it's better food and you can wash it down with a nice pint of real ale.

PS - Rover, "one of the biggest airports in the country"? Try "the biggest in the UK and one of the biggest in the world". It is also the world's busiest airport ( at peak times, a plane is taking off or landing every 30 seconds) and when Terminal 5 is complete, Heathrow will once again be the biggest airport in the world.

Rover
there are plenty of restaurants as it is one of the biggest airports in the country, but things are a little more expensive, as you would expect. there are some nice coffee shops if you are not too hungry, but plane food will be a lot more expensive.

Is there anywhere there isn't a McDonalds? I should imagine the prices are over-inflated to take advantage of the fact your choices are limited.

Yep. And while you are enjoying your 7 hour layover, tour the entire place. Great bars, and real beers.
And enjoy that 20 kilometer train ride to your gate. At least the people are friendly.
I actually always enjoy the Heath. I never left there sober, and always got telly numbers to new friends. Mostly in Chinese.
Cheers!

All the fast food shops. It is like small city centre.

Go to Pret a Manger - its in Heathrow and has awesome food. If I am ever going through heathrow I buy food at Pret and eat it on the plane instead of the crap airplane food. Pret is reasonably priced.

yes to mcd did not notice any differance in price- loads of fast food- bon appetite!

Millie
Yes, Heathrow airport has a McDonald's & several other fast food restaurants. McDonald's is priced the same as anywhere else in the UK & you can eat in other places for a reasonable price (under £5 per person).
