Of course they have lifts, but it is a legal requirement to have stairs as well in case of a fire or power outage. Just ask him to use those if he hates confined spaces.

Hope this helps

Pretty much every major city, or town has at least one building with a lift in it, London is no different!

Almost every building also has a set of stairs so really no worry there!

Yes, but most places have stairs too. Even on the underground, you have emergency stairs which you can walk up if you don't fancy using the lift. I used to have a phobia of lifts myself, but it was cured when I went to work in a building where the office was on the 7th floor. After a few weeks of stair climbing I decided, ''**** this, I'll take the lift' and I've never looked back.

TheSauerkautPoet
London does have lifts, yes. But it also has stairs so your boyfriend should be okay. If he has a problem with stairs too, I suggest you buy a bungalow or get him checked out with a head doctor.

Facile Princeps
Yes we have lifts, we also have stairs & escalators we even have street lighting

The fact that you know we call it a lift and not an elevator or whatever you call it means you know we have them here ...

WYNNE D
London does have lifts but no Sedan chairs sorry

Hellz Angel AWAY
Umm yes, you'll find most building in London have lifts. But that means they'll also have stairs, it's a legal requirement.

There are thousands of lifts in London - what a strange question. He can always use the stairs can't he? Tell him not to get a job on the 50th floor of the Canary Wharf tower building.

No, the country is still in the dark ages. We did not have the industrial revolution, invent the train or computer. We did not colonise and rule a quarter of the world including the USA. We did not invent the lift/ elevator,Tank or Aircraft carrier. We are a nation so full of retards that the shock of someone arriving on our shores who has ever seen a lift will set us back millenia. I have to ask as i cant fathom it out. London is the capital city of one of the greatest nations on earth how can one person yet alone two not know if something as basic as a lift is in a city of nearly 8 million people.

KiKi ʚїɞ
Yes they do but they also have stairs. I was in Russel Square a few months ago and the lifts were not working so I almost died walking up those stairs. There's loads of 'em.

destiny
There are lifts As well as stairs, so he shouldn't have any problems

shearwater...one

Sebastian
