we've got hundreds, thousands even maybe
they're littered all over the landscape ... some are long gone and all you can find is the impression in the soil where the walls once were, some are still visible but in ruins, some were ruined or damaged and have been restored, some are still in good repair and still standing
we've got original castles and fake castles and houses pretending to be castles

i was in Ireland a while ago and Thoor Ballylee was a pretty nice castle. it was a ten minute walk from our B&B near Gort just a half hour from Galway city. it was W. B. Yeats summer castle!
