I don't live there, but have been there for the weekend loads of times (is that sad?). One of the nicest chinese restaurants there, lots of nice italian places, nice hotels to stay in...There's also that cute "cable car" thing along the beach, that goes up the cliff really s-l-o-w-l-y.

Basically no Thought it was classed as the retirement home for retiring people, But is it true that Poole Harbour is a rich mans Haven.. and then there is sandbanks
