The Underground does not run 24 hours a day, (except for at New Year and on major public events - such as the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002) because the majority of lines have only two tracks (one in each direction) and therefore need to close at night for planned maintenance work. First trains on the network start operating around 04:30, running until around 01:30. Unlike systems such as the New York City Subway, few parts of the Underground have express tracks that would allow trains to be routed around maintenance sites. Recently, greater use has been made of weekend closures of parts of the system for scheduled engineering work. |

The tube stops running at around 12:30am. From Victoria coach station, walk towards the train station (it is well signposted) and there is a bus station at the front. Take the N73 or 73 bus from there, and it will go to St Pancras. I don't know about Cheshunt though, sorry!! |

No the Underground stops between Midnight and 1am depending on the line and destination (one hour earlier on Sundays) and re-starts at about 5-30am (7am Sundays)
Cheshunt is not served by the Underground but is on a rail line from London Liverpool Street. The first train in the morning leaves Cheshunt at 05-16am daily and the last train from Liverpool Street is at 11-58pm daily. Night bus N73 connects Victoria Rail Station (300 yards from the Coach Station) to St Pancras and Night Bus N11 connects Victoria Coach Station with Liverpool Street Station. These buses operate while the Underground is closed.
