try the Agenda near the zoo - fairly cheap handy for airport and city bypass. Also boasts a first class resturant - if you say its your anniversary they sometimes give you a free bottle of bubbly (weve done it twice)

I like Ibis Hotel.

There are quite a few hostels, but it depends on what you are looking for.

If you are travelling with a family/husband/boyfriend, and want someplace fun/classy, then ignore these options.

If you are interested in saving money, and don't mind roughing it, then look into various "backpackers Edinburgh" options. There are dozens of them, and a simple google search will produce a list of them.

The Youth Hostel. It is more like a hotel than a hostel and is open all year. You can book online.

Nessie from Loch Ness
Get a cheap 3 or 4 star hotel or b&b in Portobello 5 - 10 mins on bus from city centre there is also a bus night service. Save on city centre prices and get a lot better place to stay.

Have a nice time in my city

Very few cheap hotels. . . Ibis is about your best bet ! The hostels are really cheap if u r happy with that.
You better book soon though, Scotland v France is on at Murrayfield so accomodation will be hard to get for that night.
We are going to the Hilton this weekend, cheapest double room there is £134 a night, that seems to be about average for Edinburgh.
