Depends where abouts in England there are some great places to live and work and some not so good , just like any other country |

Having lived here all my life I would say its a good place to live and work, but like most places it has its flaws. The good things are that it has good career prospects, public transport, health care, shopping malls, country side and city life. However its also known for being expensive, especially in London, there is a bad youth culture, high taxes, unpredictable weather and a rise in immigrants- but that can be an advantage as well as a bad point. |

I wouldn't say it's a particularly good place to work. Because everything is so expensive employers are always looking for cost affective measures and have in general little respect for their employees. I think American's have more protection in their employment than we do in the UK. Wages have never been that good and to get to the top is highly competitive. We work longer hours and generally earn less than the rest of Europe as reported on the news. The weather sucks and so does the pollution and overcrowding, although we do have a nice mix of different cultures here and the NHS is worth it's weight in Gold. There are some very beautiful parts and places full of character, but a lot of Britain is urban sprawl. |

well as you can see from the other comment we are full of right wing facists who hate immagration. I think it is a great nation with good work still and for the people saying with have lost our identity I believe it is one that is changing maybe for the better or maybe for the worst but it cannot go back now. |
