no but in michigan we usually accept canadian coin money.... we're being overrun by canadian quarters!!! its kinda funny too cuz a canadian quarter is only worth about 75-80% of an american quarter.

M&S is the only place I know that takes them....you will probs find more places that will except them but be prepared to lose out with the exchange rate.

I tried to put some Euros into my Halifax account and they told me that they weren't legal tender, but M&S and GAP accepted them 5 minutes later and they insisted it was legal tender !!!!

Yes I had one given me. But the shops wouldn`t take it back , it now resides in a jar in a cupboard.

abitmishmash
You can use them in London. Not sure about other big cities but most places, rightly, throw them back in your face.

Once I was drunken going home after a nightclub and I wanted to buy a kebab but my money ran out... but I had euros... the guy wouldn't accept them... I was arguing with him for half an hour brfore he finally sold me the kebab... it was at a good exchange rate for him... but that is just me.. most places won't accept them

I drive taxis part-time - not in London - and will accept euro in payment (or as a tip), but the exchange rate is lousy and pretty much made up on the spot.
