What? The Brits *love* queuing - I have never seen anywhere else where people love to form such neat, orderly lines. It's why we hate Europeans - they don't understand the concept of queuing and like to barge right in.

But in answer to your question, it really depends on how badly I need to be there! For example, I've queued at the Post Office for over an hour, if it's been the week before Christmas and I need to post something to get there in time. I wouldn't queue in a coffee shop for longer than five minutes because there's probably another coffee shop right next door.

cari you got me vote, what you said was right

You question is wrong, you assume everyone hates queuing,
surely it depends what people are queuing for?

Actually the British prefer queuing to people jumping the queue.

I will willingly queue for 2 hours for a jumble sale.
Many British people willingly queue outside a shop, all night in the hope of getting a sale bargain.

I hate phone queues with virgin media, because I hate the 'music' on the queue, yet I usually wait until I get a chance to ask my question, or make my point, I have waited (when it was called NTL) 1 hour 20 minutes, but complained afterwards.

In traffic queues, if I choose not to wait, I get off the cycle, and walk on the pavement until the traffic is flowing easier, but often I don't mind waiting in the queue.
I am happy to wait for people to walk over zebra crossings in front of me.

I am happy to wait in shop queues, and unless I am in danger of being late for something, I will wait my turn until I get served.

I see no disadvantage of taking my place in a bus queue.

If there is a queue, and I choose to join it, I usually stay in the queue untill it is my turn.

Queuing is the British way of showing respect to those who came before us.

depends who much you need the thing that you're queueing for!

Generally people say that the Brits like queing. Although I am a brit and I don't.
It depends, if I was queing for a paper bag or free gold.

Generally though 15 minutes.

Depends on the que and what you are queing for. The longest I have been in a que was 3 hours.

Depends what queue I am in!
If it is in a large supermarket and I have a trolley full of stuff - I have no option but to wait, which has once been 20 minutes.
If it is something like a little newsagents and I was only buying one item, I would put it back and either go back later on in the day or go to another near-by shop.
Most people tend to wait about 10 minutes before they start looking at their watches and sighing and tutting.
Get annoyed at why they are in such a slow moving queue and leave after 20 minutes, unless stuck in a traffic jam!

sophie s
none of them i will wait 2 mins max
