well the weather is random
our version of bars are called pubs and meny of these specialise some are for families some are more proud of their food you find some only sell local produce and other sell well know brands and their are the ones with the mix in between
the nightlife (in my home city) is quite good
i think you will find that the uk is quite simular to the us but we have slight differences
i would highly suggest you read up on stuff thats the same thing you have but called different names like pants and trousers for example
you would also find it handy to learn local slang/tounge of the area you would like to visit as one example people up north talk differently to us in the south and that before you even think about accents
I highly suggest you check the laws as well this is important as guns and meny other types of weapons that you may be allowed to posses/carry in the states are a crime to have them
and you will want to avoid embarassing situations at customs on both sides too
also try to get familuar with our money/currency as well |

Well everything in the UK compared to you will be smaller, the weather is random, there are lot more twisty turning roads.
We are more laid back, to the point of that we do not give a toss, you may find us slacking in ways - but we are a welcoming sort.
Well we have nowhere the razzmatazz of the US, but we do our own thing.
Two major differences - we have roundabouts and our pubs cater for families.
If curious, just ask more |

I'm English with Welsh and Scottish ancestors and have lived here all my life, but have circumnavigated the World 4 times for pleasure and on business trips.
Quite honestly (in spite of the unpredictable weather!) I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else on a permanent basis.
Apart from deserts, we have the whole World in these Islands - I've recently returned from the Dead Sea and we don't have anything quite like that - in miniature.
If you are a sea lover, we have beautiful coastlines with opportunities to go surfing (not exactly Bondi Beach), we have mountains (not of Everest proportions), we have skiing (OK, Switzerland does it a little better) we have beautiful forests, lakes, rivers, canals and Autumn colours which nearly rival British Columbia. For the music lovers we have World-renowned orchestras and Pop Groups, we do have Clubs for the young, we have fantastic restaurants for the gourmets and the gourmands.
The one big thing which we have and the US doesn't, is History with a capital 'H'. |

I live in Cheshire

Pretty much it's crap weather, but occasionally we have sunny days. My favourite things are the occasional thunderstorms, all tucked up in bed, falling to sleep, while the rain and wind howls outside.
And the air is fresh, and such.
Not really much else, apart from most things we're used to.
( that didnae help at all, did it? hehe ) |

It's a smaller, more expensive version of America.
With awful weather.
But I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else!
I like it.
You'd like it to (: |

It depends where you live. Much I should imagine is similar to America. Shops/stores, cinemas, swimming pools and so on. In some places, beaches or coastal walks.
Lots to do really, it just depends where you live and what you like doing |

I've never met an American who didn't love these islands with a passion. They seem to adore the history, the scenery, culture, people. everything. They comment on the way it's charming and old- fashioned in a unique way. They laugh at our winding narrow roads, the weather, our funny food, the things we say. Even during the War, [ my mum and her friends tell me ] the lads who were over here felt comfortable, welcome and liked . The black soldiers were delighted at the hospitality they got. And all this in drab little wartime Britain, with its blacked- out windows and shortages of everything ! There isn't anywhere else like this exquisite little place on Earth, and the Americans know it. |
