1. of course: carnaby street. complete fun and very cool shops.
2. even if i'm not very fond of museums, The Science Museum. Very cool weird stuff, you can do strange experiments there. is real fun.
3. Hyde park, beautiful big park.
4. The Disney-store (but that's just me, i love my buzz lightyear-suit)
5. Wimbledon, kinda weird to see all those people get high on tennis and strawberries with cream
6. Try to sleep one night in the Sherlock Holmes Hotel. They make you solve a murder before you're allowed to enter your room. Completely funny hotel
uff, i can go on for hours...i miss London!! can't you take me with you? pretty pleaseeeee |

Hi, Here's what I always pass along!
Wow...you're in for a treat! Wear good walking shoes because London is a superb walking city. Bring a good map of the city and begin. Be a happy tourist and first hop on one of the major red double decker tour buses which afford you a perfect overview of London and you can "hop on and off" as often as you please...some for two days! I love www.theoriginaltour.com ! Highlights (see www.londonwalks.com): National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Tate Modern Museum, London Eye, Covent Gardens (great shops n restaurants), St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, see a play!, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Tower of London.
Know London has many beautiful parks which can be your oasis when needing a rest. Kensington Gardens in one of the world's wealthiest areas - See Princess Di's Kensington Palace and shop Kensington High St. and wander up Church St. for boutiques and such. Nearby: Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Hyde Park connects to Kensington Gardens. Explore Chelsea for boutiques as well. St. James Park - beautiful, sole restaurant inside. Green Park - high tea at the Ritz, Fortnum & Mason, Picadilly Circus (think Times Square). Shopping streets: Oxford, Bond, check for weekly markets...BUY "TIMEOUT LONDON" weekly magazine. Boat trip on the Thames - a must. Don't forget - you can take the EUROSTAR Chunnel train to Brussels or Paris for day trips (2.5 hrs +/- each way!) Hope this helps. Have a fantastic time! :) |

It depends what you like to do. You could do all the tourist attractions - Big Ben, the Tower of London...etc, or you could do more alternative things. An open top bus around the sites is nice (if it isn't raining!!) then you can check everything out and decide if there's anything you want to go back to.
I recommend you buy a copy of the magazine "Time Out" - as it lists all the events.
On a Sunday (or any day) it is cool to stroll by the river on London's "South Bank" near the National Theatre and Film Theatre. It's free and a great atmosphere, and you can check out the art galleries nearby if you like art, or just people watch and take it all in.
London parks are beautiful - try Regents Part (near Madame Tussauds) and Kew Gardens.
I hope you have a fantastic and memorable visit. |

At Picadilly Station, have a wander down Regents Street and then on the right after a few meters or so, head into Carnaby - there is a big red sign marking that entrance. Also, don't forget to stop at the BEST PIZZA AND JAZZ PLACE IN LONDON - SOHO PIZZA!!! - and then - head into Soho to find lots of unique places, from the left-handed shop, to the punk rock baby clothes store, to Agent Provacateur...
An alternate plan is to make a day of wondering the Camden Markets - ehre walk right out of the Station and see fab shoe shops, and then large open markets. Inside the major market on the left past Starbucks, there is a vendor who sells fresh orange juice. IT's so worth buying...and then inside there is also a jade broker with some lovely stories about the people you help when you buy his jewelry...and who will give you a blessing if you buy and a warm and fuzzy feeling even if you do not! |

Depends on your age but you should try to go to areas like Chinatown, Covent Garden and Greenwich.
Museums such as the Natural History, Science and Wallace Collection. Shopping also depends on age but check out a great website for attractions, theatres etc which is www.dolke.co.uk, tells you about the attractions and how to get there, in easy to search sections.
Have a great visit.... |
