The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether,
What part of the UK?
If you mean England, i would say,
The Lake District,
The North Yorkshire Moors,
Cotswold's,
Peak District,
The Yorkshire Dales,
Northumberland,
Cornwall, |

Well I like Cornwall, some beautiful beaches, plenty of horse riding on the moors and lots of places to see, the Eden Project for instance. Also some good surfing if you go to the right beaches. Enjoy!
Edit: I've just seen all the recommendations for Wales, sorry to say we HATED it there! Grey scenery, miserable people and never ending RAIN........... |

South Devon is beautiful, as is Cornwall. North Wales has a fabulous coast, castles, wildlife, outdoor sports and mountains. The area round Warwick in the Midlands is also beautiful, with all the things you mention plus cities in easy reach if you get the urge to see heavy traffic and big stores.
There's lots of useful information at www.visitbritain.com
Enjoy your holiday! |

Pitlochry is a great destination or Angus Glens. Avoid the West Coast in May-September, the highland midge is a holiday wrecker.

Hi
We had the holiday of a lifetime in Newtown, Wales.
IT WAS WONDERFUL. Quiet and done up to a very high standard.
Attached to a working farm and very reasonable as well. Worked out at £50 each for 8 of us for a weekend!!
Good Luck |

Dartmoor in Devon, all those things and much more, stay somewhere on the edge of Dartmoor Bovey Tracey, Manaton, Haytor, Ashburton etc then you also have the option of the south coast of Devon which is not far away. Crealy for the kids near Exeter, plenty of stables, loads of rock climbing (used to be a climbing school at Chudleigh), loads of walks, canoeing etc etc etc; generally reasonable weather (though Dartmoor itself is a bit wet at times), mild temperatures and quite sunny. Otherwise I'd say Wales. |
