Normally, they are very good value (especially the funfair tickets) and usually they stick to the times that you have been provided (i.e. departing and arrival times). Sometimes, depending on the coach driver, they can be flexible, e.g. drop you off along the way or back to the desried destination.
Personally, I never had a bad experience whilst travelling on a National Express coach. Nevertheless, beware of: having to share your two seats with another passenger if the coach is full (it can become more restrictive in terms of personal space); sitting in a coach where its toilet facilities are unfunctionable (so make sure you go to the bathroom before travelling!); and the annoyance of some passengers (e.g. some people can talk loudly together or on their mobile phones). However, these faults are not of the bus drivers and these tend to be minor issues that can be rarely experienced by passengers.
Overall, do not let the previous paragraph put you off travelling on the National Express, as I have had plenty of good experiences since I have travelled from A to B safely, with a reasonable cheap fare, as well as having a comfortable and enjoyable travel. On top of that, whenever I can, I prefer travelling via coach from one place to another than any other means with National Express. |

Numerous times for long and short journeys there are OK, but if you are on a long haul I'd take enough supplies to keep you going, water, food etc. |

Very little leg room. Drivers are rude to the point of insanity - but they might be different with you. |

I went to London from Sheffield on one last week.
They are okay, but there isn't much legroom, the toilets are really tiny and if you are coming back at night, I found it almost impossible to fall asleep because the driver wouldn't put the air conditioning on.
But apart from that they are alright. |

there OK depends were you r going i been to Alton towers with them about 3 times was great got straight in no queueing. been to London a few times you have stops and that the lady at the front talks to you and lets you know how long you have to go and were abouts you are. it would be better as well if you have seats at the front cos you have more room and you wont have kids getting on your nerves. so i would say there ok and its also cheap. |

I have they are fine and good quality, to be honest you would be better off travelling by train it's a lot faster and more comfortable !! :) |

They are very cheap but the journeys take for ever. They did use to have sandwiches on board and tea and coffee but this has now stopped. Take a travel pillow this makes it easier for sleeping, take snacks and drinks and something to do.......They do stop along the way for breaks I use them all the time to get to visit family in London from Cumbria....... |

It's ok to get you from A to B, but it's very badly organised! The poor bus drivers have a lot to deal with - people rushing on, luggage and tickets etc. Make sure you arrive early! |

Like any other coach! The one I went on had broken air con so it wasnt a very pleasant experience! If its a long journey take plenty of food/water and stuff to do - unless you can sleep the whole time. On long journeys they do stop for toilets etc so at least you can stretch your legs. |

They're good, fast as their name implies, comfortable, much more interesting journey for long distance than sitting in train, have toilets and you can buy snacks and moreover, best of all, they are very economic way of getting round. |

They're fine, and a lot cleaner than you average bus in a city. |

yes, i ride on them about twice a year and i get good value with the fun fare but all i can say is DO NOT USE THE TOILETS on board they can be a bit gross. I used one on my last visit and I stepped in someone's urine and fecal matter and it was all down my jeans and then I lifted the toilet paper and again it had urine on it so then i tried to turn on the tap and the tap wasn't working so basically i sat for 2 hours smelling like... well you can imagine! But overall they are OK, I've never really had a problem like that before.. Sometimes their A/C doesn't work but they are good value in general. |
