Try York. A beautiful city, lots to see and do. Plenty of good pubs and restaurants. Full of "Olde English" charm. Nice area outside the city too. |

Go to Brighton. I always go there because it's fun. I'm not gay. People mind their own business there. Why would your boyfriend feel uncomfortable there? If he's got that kind of attitude he might as well stay in and live like a hermit. It doesn't matter where you go there will always be gay people. I'm not into them myself but I don't allow their presence to stop me from going anywhere and they don't bother me. People live their lives as they choose. |

People don't realize how far north Scotland really is. It starts getting dark around three in the afternoon in December, but if you enjoy sitting by a roaring fire, then it is all good and Scotland is beautiful, rain or shine.
If you haven't been to London, Christmas season there is beautiful and there are always things to do in the city. I went to Brighton, and never noticed that its "gayness," but to each his own. Another lovely town is York. It is closer to Scotland, a walled city and do not miss Sunday morning when all the church bells are calling the parishoners in for mass. You might even take in an evening mass, which is lovely and haunting. |
