If cost doesn't matter then fly to Exeter then train or coach to plymouth,if not why not by car its pretty straight forward.

I think you have to weigh up the pros and cons of time versus expense.
In my experience, cutting corners doesn't always pay off, especially if you have a wedding to go to. So I would advise you fly, then train it. A train journey all the way could be easier in terms of not having to deal with airport security, but it will be very lengthy and tiring.
Yahoo Answers attracts all kinds of posters, so at least some of the answers you get should be helpful, and yes, that is what the site is for, so don't despair! |

You can go by National Express but it is between 14 and 19 hrs depending on what time you leave...that's a heck of a long journey to be sat on a coach seat...

A train journey is around 9 or 10 hrs

If you fill in the bits on those sites you can get an idea of how much it will cost you....
Flying would be much quicker but I have no idea how much that would cost.

You can fly from Edinburgh - Exeter which will take approx one hour. Go to www.flybe.com - as long as you're not fussy with your dates & book in advance then it'll cost you approx £65 I think.
From Exeter Airport buy a Devon Explorer ticket for £6.00. You will need to get a bus into Exeter then a bus to Plymouth.
Personally, I would rather pay this amount of money rather than getting the bus from Edinburgh.

personal choice. what is it about travel in the UK.. oh yea its bloody expensive.
Fly would be quickest. train would need to remortgage the house.
drive would be best option making the most of the journey stopping at places of interest.
roller-skate or similar
hitch hike
or cycle down for charity
or you you canoe around the coast, its all down hill from up there :-) |
