5.40pm here on the east coast of Australia and we've been ice skating - to cool down! Today was really hot.

To put you Americans out of your misery, car booting means attending car boot sales, which are like markets where you take your car, park on a pitch that's assigned to you, open up the boot and start selling all the old junk you got out of your attic. A lot of people in the UK and here in Australia make a whole weekend of it - either buying or selling, or both.

My boss used to say he was off "to a car boot" - some people just call it a "boot sale".

Oh, nearly forgot, if you Americans still don't know what a car boot is, it's an automobile trunk! Talk about two countries divided by a common language!

car booting is where you pack a table and all the old crap you dont use or need anymore into the back of your car(volvos are awesome for this). take it all into the middle of a field and set the table up with all the stuff on. then you spend all day haggling over the price of horse brasses and lampshades. its good clean fun and now everyone knows what it is.

car booting? Im from the US in Denver Colorado and to me that term means that you are going to put boots on cars.

If you are curious as to what that means look up "The Denver Boot" on google. Basically its this metal device they strap to your car when you have a lot of unpaid parking tickets that prevents you from driving your car.

Somehow I doubt that is what you are planning on doing today... :-p

Ooohh!! Just found your message!! I guess you're home by now? Hope you had a good day, and made some money? And I hope you didn't have to bring too much back home with you!! Its 18.07.pm here in Cyprus....and sadly, we don't see many car boot sales here!! One or two Ex-Pats have tried to get them going, but they don't seem to take off!!
